About

I’m Michael Dubakov. I was born in Shchuchin, spent most of my life in Minsk, and since 2021, to my own surprise, I live in Cyprus.

I’ve been making software for 26 years, though it seems none of us has long left. I was an HTML coder, a programmer, a project manager, a programmer again, and then, to my own surprise, a CEO. In 2004 I started Targetprocess; in 2021 Apptio bought it. Since 2017 I’ve been making Fibery (a work management system for your company, a good one).

I started writing essays as soon as I’d picked up a little HTML and CSS (long ago, in short), and I’ve hardly been able to stop since, although lately I write much less, and worse, than I used to.

I started writing poems somewhere around eighth grade (to my own surprise, as you’ve guessed by now). Later I more or less learned to play the guitar, and some of the poems are slowly turning into songs (to their own surprise).

I smile to everything, even to my suffering.
